How a class runs on Tallyhat
One record follows each student from enrollment to a card anyone can check.
Schedule and enroll
Instructors and admins schedule classes. For open sessions, people can sign up and pay online.
Students check in on their own phones
A one-time code, a signature and an ID photo, in English or Spanish. The instructor sees the roster fill in as students arrive.
Teach from the hub
Each course has its own training materials and built-in pre and post quizzes. Students scan a QR code to take them, and the scores show on the roster.
Certificates and wallet cards from the class record
Each student marked complete is emailed a link to verify and download a PDF certificate. Tallyhat also generates a wallet card with a QR code.
Anyone can verify by scanning
A public page shows the course, the dates, the instructor and the status: Valid, Expired or Revoked. It works in English or Spanish.
Also in Tallyhat

We are opening Tallyhat to a small group first
We are looking for organizations whose instructors teach their own safety classes. Launch partners help shape the first version for organizations other than P3.
What we have in mind
- Early access, set up with your courses and your certificate wording
- A say in what we build next
- Direct access to the people who build and use it
What we ask
- A conversation about how your team runs training today
- Honest feedback as you use it
Common questions
Is Tallyhat a training program?
No. Tallyhat is software. Your instructors teach the classes, and your organization evaluates students and issues the certificates. Tallyhat keeps the records and generates the certificates and cards from the class record. Today certificates and cards carry P3's name; your own branding is planned.
Can students use it in Spanish?
Check-in, quizzes, the course feedback survey and the verification page work in English and Spanish. Certificates and emails are in English.
Do we need to install anything?
No. Instructors and admins use a web browser, students check in on their own phones, and checking a card needs only a phone camera.
Built by a safety training company, for its own classes first
Tallyhat comes from P3 Safety Solutions, which has provided safety training and consulting in Phoenix and across the Southwest since 2014. It is the same system P3 uses every day for its own classes, certificates and wallet cards. P3's lead instructor is Jon Cordoba, CHST, CIT.
